I'll be returning to Pittsburgh in February for a series of Jazz concerts! I'll be performing in concert with The Three Rivers Jazz Orchestra and Mike Tomaro.
Diva nights are planned for February as well! Come join the fun as several of the Pittsburgh areas most popluar, and hot, female vocalists come together for an evening of high energy Jazz! Lisa is connecting with Big Band Leaders and Jazz musicians in the bay area as well and is planning a major sweep of the area this year! So much fun.
Lisa Yvonne Ferraro: Live from Fallingwater is an exquisite collection of Jazz especially for lovers. With Mike Tomaro, Max Leake, Paul Thompson and Thomas Wendt, this recording, engineered by 5 time Grammy winner Jay Dudt, captures the essence of this twilight performance before a very appreciative audience. Plans for a new Jazz CD are in the works for February of 2010. A mix of orginals and classic standards will highlight Lisa's exquisite gift for lifting ballads into sublime realms.
RUBY NEWS:
Ruby performed at the 2009 Parliament of the World's Religions. This global event happens only once every four years and this December it takes place in Melbourne, Australia. Alongside artists, speakers and spiritual seekers of numerous traditions and cultures, Ruby offered their brand of soul dilating, heart nourishing music with songs inspired by the poetry of Rumi.
The group, Ruby is the result of an inspired collaboration by three artists: Lisa Ferraro - vocalist; Erika Luckett - guitarist and vocalist; and Kabir Helminski- songwriter,author, translator of Rumi and Sufi sheikh. Each had followed our own creative path until a series of coincidences brought us together in November, 2007. Within fifteen minutes of meeting we spontaneously composed our first song, “Listen, O Drop.”
On The Way of Love: Songs Inspired by Rumi is a unique and soul stirring collection of music recorded with Erika Luckett and Sheikh Kabir Helminski.Check out a sample here or watch this video!
In the Fall of 2008 we traveled to and recorded with inspired musicians in Istanbul, California and Pittsburgh to bring this musical journey into sonic resonance.
